This event will be based on a short film showing the impact of neighbourhood disputes and how volunteer mediators work with parties to achieve resolution.
It contains a short narrative portraying a fictitious case. It is designed to appeal to a wider audience than a typical training video and thereby to increase our reach into the communities who may not otherwise engage.
The film presents a case from two perspectives to convey how disputes can be perceived very differently by the parties involved. The parties are played by actors all other film roles are played by volunteer mediators.
There will be a question and answer session with both actors and the film crew.
This event also provides an opportunity to find out more about training as a community mediator, and examines some of the lesser known uses for mediation. It is designed to bring the concept of community mediation to life.
As limited places are available, registration is required.
