As the use of alternative means of dispute resolution has gathered pace over the last 30 years, many sectors have successfully adopted a mediation approach to resolve a conflict.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) are hosting a free event, which will consist of a panel discussion on the less traditional areas where mediation is currently in use and thriving:

  • Conciliation in accountancy regulation
  • Mediation in the prison system
  • Mediation in schools
  • Mediation in personal injury claims
  • Mediation in the insurance industry

Speakers on the day will include:

Maria Arpa: Centre for Peaceful Solutions

Terry Renouf:  Renouf Mediation

Philippa Larbi: ACCA Conciliation Service

The panel discussion will be followed by a live improvised mediation demonstration, where the audience will be asked to select a dispute scenario from some of the most challenging mediation party candidates, and Maria Arpa will be tasked to bring them to resolution.

This event aims to examine some of the lesser known uses for mediation and bring the concept of mediation to life through a live demonstration of the process.

As limited places are available, registration is required.
